Cybernetics Bookshelf

Posted by: dhcsoul    in Books, Books (Cybernetics)

As I noted elsewhere, I'm looking at using Goodreads as a catalog system for my fairly extensive library…. here's a widget courtesy of the Goodreads people that gives a taste of some (I've only entered about 800 so far) of the books in my collection, in this case those I've tagged with the term 'cybernetics'

Pangea Day: an introduction

Posted by: dhcsoul    in Odds & Sods

What is Pangea Day?  according to their web site:

Pangea
day taps the power of film to strengthen tolerance and compassion while
uniting millions of people to build a better future.

In a world
where people are often divided by borders, difference, and conflict,
it’s easy to lose sight of what we all have in commond.  Pangea Day
seeks to overcome that – to help people see themselves in others-
through the power of film.

On May 10, 2008 – Pangea Day – sites
in New York City, Rio, London, Dharamsala, Cairo, Jerusalem, and Kigali
will be videoconferenced live to produce a 4-hour program of powerful
films, visionary speakers and uplifting music.
