This slide presentation covers the history and development of cybernetics  …

It covers some of the fundamental principles of the field and while there is very little detail here,  it does give a sense of the “flow” of history and includes some photos of some of the pioneers in the field (including Stafford Beer, Humberto Maturana, Warren McCulloch, Margaret Mead, Gordon Pask, Heinz von Foerster, Grey Walter, Norbert Weiner) and one of Ross Ashby’s Homeostat.
